  1. Pharmacy is a growing profession that has changed over the years and is still changing. The profession started off around the 1900’s as a role in apothecary. Not until the 1960’s did it change into the clinical pharmacy, as it is known today. “Pharmacists are currently recognized as drug experts whose role is to work in collaboration with patients, physicians and other health care professionals to optimize medication management to produce positive health outcomes.” Many patients believe that pharmacists have the authority to prescribe any drug to any patient; however, there must be a association between the patients physician and the pharmacist. In Alberta, pharmacist can decide if they want to allow prescribing authority in their practice, which includes “adapting a prescription” and "initiating/managing drug therapy."
Being a pharmacist doesn’t just consist of finishing school after a few years, it is a growing field which requires a continuing education program. Which brings us to wonder, will pharmacist in the US have the choice to prescribe any drug to any one of their patients?

    Indian Gambling (page 43)
In 1988 congress established the Indian Gaming Regulatory act which made it legal for Indian commercial games of 3 Classes. Since the enactment, gambling revenue has multiplied from millions to billions. Operations on tribal lands are class 3. Research has proved that Indian gambling is outbeating American gambling at a higher rate. Most of the revenues in the Indian casinos are coming from the hotel room, alcohol, and food sales. This is helping out the tribes drastically considering their struggles with poverty in the past. It has created millions of jobs considering more than half are unemployed with poor educations. The IGRA has helped stimulate the economy and provide "the American dream". A local example is Foxwoods and Mohegan sun which is living proof of their growing economy. This has made Congress's attempt successful when enacting the law which " promoted tribal economic developement.. [and] self-sufficiency,".

  7. The roots in which jazz came from are derived from two cultures: West Africa and Europe. Because of the fusion of these cultures we see the elements of emotion, harmony and rhythm found in jazz today.

Ellis Island was opened as the entry port for immigrants on Jan 1, 1892. With its spacious building it could process 7000 immigrants per day, more than double from Barge Office where immigrants were processed before. It had medical services, offices for telegraph, information, and purchasing railroad tickets for the immigrants.
The first registered immigrant was a fifteen year old Irish girl, Annie Moore. She and her two brothers were welcomed by the station’s first commissioner, Col. John B. Weber.
The immigrants landed from ships were registered, physically inspected, and then separated into rejected or accepted for immigration. The accepted ones then move onto different directions according to their further destinations in the United States. The sick ones were sent to hospital for treatment. The surgeon was the only person allowed to live at the island.

The location of La Jolla, San Diego originated from La Jolla Park from an early year of 1886. Figuring out how the name came about in the first place is a bit difficult. The name is of Spanish descent, pronounced "LA-HOY-YA." Some say that it was derived from the work "AHOY" which is a word sailors would use to get the attention of people on shore. Others argue that its simply a misspelling.
While the origination is not quite clear to us yet, we all know one thing, and that's that La Jolla is a gorgeous area surrounded by a beautiful ocean and a sandy beach. With the palm trees swaying in the air and the wonderful climate, La Jolla is quite a hit. The homes in this area are quite large. Some even say that La Jolla is a mixture of Mediterranean Europe and Beverly Hills. Who wouldn't love such a scene.

In the begining of this story it is mentioned how small town glory is like no other in regard's to women's basketball. From personal experience I can truly say there is no greater feeling than having glory within one's own town.
